Headteacher notes…..

redsquirrelHello!
Welcome to our ‘Under Construction’ new website. You’ll have noticed there are changes afoot….hopefully we’ll be able soon to show you the amazing world of Rivington Foundation Primary School in its full glory!!
We are having a super term with many events , visits and fantastic work going on everywhere you look!
Our Acorns Unit is the place to be if you are 2 years old! There is always something exciting happening- and whilst having their own curriculum (linked to the EYFS) and fabulous Log Cabin,  they do come and join whole school events at certain times; the next being Christingle at the start of December.
Pre-School and Reception are-as always – constantly learning and experiencing the world. Mrs Davies -our Forest Schools’ Practitioner- can be seen heading into the woods with her band of explorers every week or so! Gruffalo look out! Y3&4 are enjoying the benefit of new classroom furniture in their ‘top room'; this makes all the difference to accessing an even wider curriculum! Y3&4 have been into the Stone Age and back, with fantastic work all round! During this half term Y5&6 are experiencing Chorley Courts and having a visit from the Parliamentary  Education team. Will our future leaders be inspired? Our School Council certainly have a talent for organising and working together ;their recent Pudsey fundraiser definitely proved this!!
Alongside all this,we have our Young Voices choir-getting ready for next February, the whole choir practising for the Preston Big Sing and our Church Carol Service; together with (it seems everyone) singing , dancing and pracitising for our end of term celebrations and events!  Visits to school are welcome and can be arranged by speaking to our bursar Mrs How.
Bye for now!
Mrs Janine Carter-Clavell
